Power Summit 2013 to host over 200 global institutions

Kathmandu, August 19 (CNS) -- While the Independent Power Producers' Association, Nepal (IPPAN) is hosting Power Summit 2013 in Kathmandu with the patronage of the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Energy and the Investment Board, more than 200 different institutions from all over the world have so far ensured their participation.

Investors, experts, wholesale banks, insurance companies, diplomatic agencies and equipment suppliers from China, Korea, India, Russia, Norway, Czech Republic, Canada, USA, New Zealand have registered for the participation at the Summit scheduled for August 26-27, 2013.

The summit is being jointly organized by IPPAN, PTC India Limited (PTC) and Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).

According to the organizers, the Power Summit 2013 is geared to catalyse the power development sector into action because there is a general feeling that the enthusiasm and momentum that was in the sector has somehow dissipated over the past five years.

The following are the key topics and themes which the power producers have chosen for the Power Summit 2013: The status of hydro power projects to meet domestic demands as well as the electricity demand forecast, pricing strategies, and foreign markets.
